Lynchburg/Blue Ridge Parkway KOA Provides Quick Getaways and Scenic Views

The scenic heights and unforgettable views of the Blue Ridge Parkway is just minutes away from the Lynchburg / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA campground. Located about thirty-five minutes from Downtown Lynchburg off State Highway 130 in rural western Amherst County, Virginia, this scenic campground provides easy access to scenic hikes, waterfalls, caverns, and historic sites. Open from April 1st through November 1st, visitors can choose between one of three different seasons as the backdrop for their adventure in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Popular attractions in the Lynchburg region within convenient driving range of the campground include Natural Bridge State Park, the Peaks of Otter mountain range, historic downtown Bedford, the National D-Day MemorialAppalachian Trail, and the iconic City of Lynchburg alongside the James River. Scenic hikes, waterfalls, caverns, and other historic sites lie within an easy drive down America’s picturesque Blue Ridge Parkway, an international destination sought by millions of travelers worldwide.

The campground offers multiple ways for guests to stay, including RV sitestent sites, on-site cabin lodging, and more! Amenities for campers are also offered, including access to cable tv, a dog park, wi-fi, a swimming pool, firewood, and many others for guests to use and enjoy with their stay. Additionally, this campground destination offers on-site recreational opportunities as well, including shuffleboard, tetherball, train rides, and many more for campers to enjoy!

The Lynchburg / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Check-in time for guests is 2 p.m. the day of arrival, and check-out time is 11 a.m. the day of departure. The campground’s swimming pool is open from 9 a.m. through sunset from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and the facility requests that guests maintain quiet hours from 10 p.m. through 8 a.m.

The campground also allows pets, but they must always remain under the direct control and supervision of an adult owner. Cabins are dog-friendly only, exotic pets, such as birds and reptiles, must remain kept in their owner’s RV, and livestock, including farm animals such as pigs, are not permitted on the campground.
