2026 General Election Center

Get to know our region's candidates and where they stand on the issues

Welcome to the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance's 2026 General Election Center

In even numbered years, all members of the U.S. House of Representatives and one third of the U.S. Senate are up for election this year. There are also any number of local elections, local ballot initiatives and questions, as well as three Virginia Constitutional Amendment questions to consider. As part of our mission to advocate for and advance regional economic development, pro-business, and quality of life policies, we want to make sure that our members have access to as much information about the voting process and candidates as possible.

You will find links to the candidates for United States Senate, United State House of Representatives, and a listing of the candidates running for local offices. We have also provided the text of the three statewide constitutional amendments as they will appear on the ballots, as well as any of the locality specific questions or referendums that will be up for consideration.

We have asked all candidates for Federal office in the Lynchburg region’s footprint to provide some background information. We are also scheduling one-hour virtual Candidate Interviews for candidates running in the 5th and 9th Congressional Districts. If you don’t see your candidate’s information, it is because they did not respond to our request or declined. You will also find links to election and voter information provided by the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Election Division.

Often, we get asked if we endorse candidates for public office.  The short answer is No. We endorse ideas, not candidates. We encourage all our Alliance members to fully participate in electoral process, by being well informed about where the candidates stand on a wide range of issues impacting the economic health and vitality of our region, state, and nation. Engage with the candidates, in a civil manner, as often as possible. We hope you find the resources on this page to be useful and informative.

Remember, Early In-Person Voting runs from September 18th to October 31st. Election Day is on Tuesday, November 3rd. Polls are open from 6:00AM to 7:00PM.
