In our previous articles, we discussed “The Domino Effect” — how small, intentional steps create momentum.

Our first two dominos were sleep and digestive health — two crucial wellness foundations most of us overlook.

Our final domino is Immune Health: a visible result of protecting the first two.

(*Autoimmune conditions are excluded from this discussion*)

This time of year, immune support becomes a universal priority.

Everyone wonders when the next bug will hit their family.

As parents of small children, we understand the toll this takes on a family. We’ve spent 15 years learning how our bodies work, and finding proactive ways to manage our health.

In the conversation about immune support, we discuss three questions:

1.         What factors are working against our bodies?

2.        What builds a strong immune system?

3.        What holistic tools are available?

First: What works against us?

Sugar is the top culprit that negatively affects our immune systems. It triggers inflammation, disrupts the gut microbiome, and weakens the body’s defense systems. Consuming high amounts of sugar can lower our ability to fight infection for up to 12 hours.  Yet the average American consumes 17-22 teaspoons of sugar every day.

Second: What contributes to a healthy immune system?

As discussed in our previous article, 70% of the immune system and 90% of serotonin reside in the gut. Probiotics benefit both the digestive system and the immune system by restoring balanced, healthy bacteria. This is especially important if you’ve recently been on antibiotics, which create an imbalance in the gut. Ever since we started giving our children doTERRA’s probiotic, they’ve been sick less frequently and managed illness more comfortably.

Third Question: What holistic tools are available?

Even if we take pristine care of our bodies, perfect health isn’t guaranteed. Holistic tools at home have kept us comfortable and resilient when we do get sick. In the past, what “knocked us out” for two weeks is now minor discomfort for a few days. We have tools to ease congestion, soothe occasional headaches, and promote restful sleep.

Our “Must-Have” Tools:

•    Breathe “Steam Cup” to ease congestion

•    Serenity to promote restful sleep

•    On Guard Chewables to maintain healthy immune function

•    Drinkable Vitamins, Probiotics and Electrolytes as daily support

In our Wellness in the Workplace segment, we offer tangible experiences of these products.

If you’re ready to support your employees—or your home—with practical, holistic tools that build resilience, we’d love to connect.
