What's your favorite part of your job? My favorite part about what I do is that I love everything I’m doing, and I’m having fun doing it.

What is your favorite part of being an Ambassador? My favorite part of being an ambassador is the ability to add value, give back and serve my community and the business and individuals who are members of the Alliance.  It’s also a tremendous honor to represent LRBA as an Ambassador.

How has Alliance membership benefitted your business? It’s all about relationships.  I’m a people person, and meeting new people and building new relationships is the cornerstone of the success of each business I’m involved with.

What is your single best piece of advice to new members, so they can take full advantage of their membership? Attend as many Alliance events as you’re able to, get out there and network, and have fun with it.  You’re one connection away!

Do you have any advice for someone who is considering becoming an Alliance member? The LRBA network is priceless, it’s definitely an organization you want to be a member of.

Do you have a memorable experience while serving as an ambassador? Yes, our annual retreats are the best!  They’re fun, informative and great for team building and growing as an ambassador family.

What is your favorite quote to live by and why?
“When you commit to the habits of success, success becomes a habit”.
I love this quote because it’s simple and true.  Your success is determined by what you do on a daily basis, and when you can be disciplined enough to commit to the daily habits that allow you to be successful, success becomes a by-product.

What is one thing that others wouldn’t necessarily know? With the success I attained as a football student-athlete, one likely wouldn’t know that my “first love” in sports was baseball, not football.  I was fairly talented as a child playing baseball, but not as good as football.  I’ll never forget having to make the tough decision my 10th grade year in high school of whether to continue playing baseball, or train for football. Obviously, I chose to train for football.

What could you give a presentation on or talk about for hours without any preparation? John Maxwell leadership content, which I love to do.

How else are you involved in the community? I’m the immediate past president with the Home Builders Association of Central Virginia, I serve on the executive board for the Home Builders Association of Virginia, I serve on two committees with the Lynchburg Association of Realtors, I volunteer coaching with Rustburg Dixie Youth Sports, I serve with the Kiwanis Club of Forest, I serve at my church (Family Life Church), and am a member of Lynchburg Connect.

When I'm not at work I like to? Spend time with my two sons, Trey and Jaxon, and my family. I also really enjoy golfing when time allows.

What is your go-to eating spot? When I’m in the Lynchburg/Forest area, Benjamin’s and Clubhouse are two of my favorites. When I’m in the Amherst area, Bonfire in the town of Amherst is great.  However, the hidden gym in Amherst is What a Blessing Bakery, they have fantastic subs and sandwiches, and amazing pastries and desserts.

What is your favorite item you've purchased this year? Athletic gear for my sons, I love watching them compete and have fun playing sports.

What are you reading or listening to right now? All of these I’m listening to on Audible:
- Soundtracks by Jon Acuff
- Developing the Leader Within You 2.0 by John Maxwell
- High Road Leadership by John Maxwell
- Becoming More by Dianna Kokoszka
- S.H.A.P.E. by Erik Rees

Favorite vacay spot? Myrtle Beach and Hawaii.  Myrtle Beach because it’s where my family vacationed every year as a child, and we continue to do a family vacation to Myrtle Beach every year.  Hawaii, because, it’s Hawaii…how can you not love Hawaii.

What's a fun thing you like to do in the Lynchburg Region? Capture the beautiful views our region offers, and visit our vast wineries and distilleries with friends and loved ones.
